As discussed during the dispatch call, police checked the area near Clifton Way for reports of juveniles running through the neighborhood, ringing doorbells and running away; the caller also reported possible damage to the house. A second similar complaint came from another nearby home on Clifton. Officers checked the surrounding area, including Detroit Road, Route 83, and the Commons area behind Heinen's, for juveniles on bicycles possibly involved (exact count unclear).

As discussed during the dispatch call, officers were dispatched to check the area around a hotel on Sperry Drive for a possible suspicious person complaint. Staff reported a man, described as a young adult with dreadlocks and a heavier build, wandering near the pool and parking lot, looking into vehicles and putting his arm around a guest in an elevator. Another male may have been with him, and both were reportedly not hotel guests.
