As discussed during the dispatch call, fire crews responded to a report of a possible incident at a large three-story multifamily residential building near Hancock Street. Engine 2 arrived, reported no visible fire, and began an offensive investigation while establishing command and assigning accountability on the front side of the structure. Ladder 1 was requested to position on the front side and assist with checking the first floor and exterior.

A caller in the lobby reported smelling smoke and seeing some smoke inside, possibly coming from a copy room, and no evacuation had occurred at that time.
