As discussed during the dispatch call, officers were sent to the area of Walnut Street near a care facility for a reported physical fight where two men were allegedly assaulting a woman. Multiple callers reported hearing the disturbance. The woman said she had been assaulted and mentioned a broken foot that was later described as pre-existing. Some people at the scene reportedly accused her of having a gun, which she denied, and the subjects were later said to have left in a brown SUV. People inside a nearby residence acknowledged having firearms in the home but said they were not loaded.

The subject reportedly left a few minutes earlier, walking in the direction of a nearby Walmart. Units Sam 4 and Sam 1 were sent to check the area.
